About Resolution/Image Format
The images are scanned at a resolution of 200 dots per inch (DPI), and stored in Tagged Image File Format (TIFF).
It is recommended that printing be done with printers capable of at least 200 DPI.
Depending upon the age of the document, some pages are stored with a "*.img" naming convention and some are stored with a
"*.tif" naming convention. The file name "*" is a number automatically generated, and does not necessarily correspond
to the actual page number of the document.
If you are attempting to download and save a document using the Multiple-Page TIFF viewing option, your browser may attempt to give the
file a name like "d30pytiffstream.py" or "download.py". If so, rename the file to <somefilename>.tif.
The documents can be downloaded for viewing in two ways. Each page can be downloaded as a separate 'Single-Page TIFF' file or multiple
pages can be downloaded as one single 'Multiple-Page TIFF' file.
In either case, you will require a TIFF image viewer to be able to view the images.
If you are using Windows® 98 (or higher), you are in luck. The standard Windows® 98 install includes a standard TIFF
image viewer that should be already properly installed.
If you do not have the TIFF image viewer supplied with Windows® 98, you will have to find one and install it on your
computer.
